Smoke doors and fire doors create a seal that provides protection from the deadly effects of smoke and flames during a fire. Smoke doors block smoke and other combustible products, while fire doors stop flames by compartmentalizing. In the event of a fire, emergency escape routes and information signs have to continue to be easily visible despite the smoke. our smoke proof doors prevent the spread of smoke and provide for clear emergency escape routes. Smoke Control Door is designed to obstruct the spread of smoke from one area of a building to another. Our smoke control doors with smoke seals to prevent the leakage of smoke in compartments.Tested in accordance with UL 1784 Air leakage test for door assemblies. Meets criteria in NFPA 105 Installation of Smoke control door assemblies.The use of seals to the vertical edges and head of the door set enable this door set to be certified as smoke control. Bottom seals rebated into the leaf are also available.
In more recent times,draft and smoke control door assemblies have been utilized to limit the smoke migration through door openings. These draft and smoke control door assemblies are tested in accordance with UL 1784, the Standard for Safety of Air Leakage Tests of Door Assemblies. (Provisions from this Standard were previously included in the Uniform Building Code Standard UBC 7-2, Part II.)
Smoke and draft control door assemblies are intended to be installed in accordance with the Standard for Smoke Door Assemblies and Other Opening Protectives, NFPA 105, and the Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives, NFPA 80. Smoke and draft control doors are required to be self closing or automatic closing in accordance with NFPA 80. Automatic closing smoke door assemblies shall be activated by smoke
